About the AFIP foundation

The AFIP foundation is a Public Benefit Organization and consists of medical researchers who aim to improve communication between patients suffering from Atrial Fibrillation and professionals. The AFIP team includes the research groups of Prof. Bianca Brundel and Prof. Natasja de Groot. Furthermore, the foundation aims at improving treatment of Atrial Fibrillation through innovative studies related at uncovering of the mechanism driving Atrial Fibrillation, development of novel diagnostics to early detect Atrial Fibrillation, and discovery of novel potential curing medicines.

AFIP’s Mission

Funding is required in order to set up innovative studies. And you can help. Through the AFIP platform everyone has the possibility to donate for or participate in research projects. We believe Atrial Fibrillation can be stopped through collaboration between healthcare professionals and patients. The AFIP foundation aims to:

  • Share knowledge among individuals on Atrial Fibrillation
  • Use patients’ input to set up innovative studies
  • Collect funding to set up studies to test alternative drugs
